Rush Multipurpose Youth Facility is happy to announce a name change to Rush Multipurpose & Youth Facility (Martins Shop). Our mandate, values, objectives and mission statement has not changed. We are commitment to supporting youth in the surrounding area. The reason for the change is that it was felt that other worthwhile community groups may not contact us, thinking that we only deal with youth activities. We also support any community-based groups that are looking for space within the facility to support their activities.

The name change was suggested by Fingal County Council and approved by the RMYF Board. Our mandate is and always had been that the activity within the centre falls into the following breakdown. At least 60% youth activity, 40% other community activities. Commercial activity must be community related: for example, an “After School Club” or “Creche”) Any activity within the centre must be run independently of the board. Boards members cannot be involved in any commercial activities within the facility as this may lead to a conflict of interest.

The company name “The Rush Multipurpose Youth Facility GLC” will remain the same but the Facility and Trading name will change to The Rush Multipurpose & Youth Facility (Martins Shop) We are there to serve the local community in a way that is “not for profit” and self-sustainable.

It is hoped that the RM&YF will grow and develop alongside the growing needs of the youth in the community, and as funding becomes available. The centre as it stands today is only a starting point for what we hope will be an ambition and innovative plan to develop the facility. We are looking for new board members to help drive the facility to new hights and to ensure that it is seen as the yard stick by which others are measured.
